The Left’s Letdown: Why I’m Okay with Doge Tearing It All Apart

As a former cheerleader for the progressive left, I’m gutted by how they fumbled the ball in the 2020s. With Biden’s presidency offering a chance to reset after Trump’s whirlwind, the left instead tripped over its own idealism—fractured by infighting, cancel culture crusades, and a tone-deaf response to inflation and border woes. Promises of equity and climate action got drowned in bureaucratic bloat and “woke” missteps that alienated half the country. By 2025, their moral high ground felt more like a slippery slope.Enter Dogecoin’s Elon Musk, now steering the ship with his chaotic, meme-fueled energy. I never thought I’d say it, but I’m oddly okay with him tearing it all apart. Musk’s brash, “to the moon” approach—whether it’s SpaceX moonshots or X platform shakeups—feels refreshingly unfiltered compared to the left’s sanctimonious stumbles. Sure, it’s a circus, but at least it’s honest. The left had its shot to rebuild a better world; instead, they built a soapbox. Doge’s disruption? Bring it on—I’m tired of the letdown.
